Hello, Sheila. Thank you for your very encouraging words. This drawing was of a girl who came to sit for us at the art clas I attended a few years ago. It was just before Christmas, and when she closed her eyes and looked down, with that velvet scarf draped around her head, I thought she had an air of purity and innocence, and so, before I gave her the finished portrait, I scanned the drawing and made copies to send out as Christmas cards to all my friends. I called it Madonna.
In 1990, as we were driving through a little village, I noticed a quaint old barn with a corrugated roof, and a newly-built house adjacent to it. They were standing on a large plot of land, full of pernicious weeds - a corner of a farmer's field, in fact. Then we saw the "For Sale" sign. Four months later we moved in and decided to create a garden for wildlife.

I admire your art work. Especially the variety of subjects you paint.

Lovely.
I used to do some pastels. And I've always wanted to try water colors.
Very happy I found this blog of yours, also.

You are so very gracious, smilnsigh. Watercolour is a very challenging medium to learn, but that's why I like it! Thank you very kindly.
Beautifully described her emotions- making peace at heart.
